Quick answers to the questions players actually ask about Monster in the Mansion — the Roblox asymmetrical horror game you'll also see written as Monsters in the Mansion. Every answer links to the full guide where there is more depth.
What is Monster in the Mansion?
Monster in the Mansion — often searched as Monsters in the Mansion, and occasionally mistyped as Monsters in the House — is a free asymmetrical survival horror game on Roblox by Ubermonster Productions. Eight players enter Doctor Mondo's mansion: one is possessed by the Monster and hunts, while the other seven play as Survivors trying to cure them. The full setup is in Characters & Roles.
Is Monster in the Mansion free?
Yes. The game is free to play on Roblox — you only need a free Roblox account. It supports cross-play between PC, mobile, console and tablet, so friends on any device can join the same round. The release date and how-to-play page covers getting started.
Can you play Monsters in the Mansion solo?
You will always be matched into a full 8-player round — there is no confirmed solo or smaller-lobby mode in Early Access. You can absolutely queue up alone, though: matchmaking fills the rest of the lobby, and playing solo with open-mic strangers is exactly the loud-hunt experience the survival guide prepares you for.
Is the Monster in Monsters in the Mansion AI or a player?
A player. One of the eight people in your lobby is possessed by the Monster and controlled by a human — there is no AI Monster. That is why the Monster playstyle guides read like a PvP playbook: patrols, sound reading and craft denial, not scripted behavior.
How many players are in a round?
Eight: 1 Monster vs 7 Survivors. The ratio is what makes the game's coverage math work — the Monster cannot watch every wing at once, so squads split lanes and run decoys. More on why 1v7 changes everything in the vs Dead by Daylight comparison.
What platforms is Monster in the Mansion on?
Roblox, which means PC, mobile, console and tablet — with cross-play across all of them. There is no standalone PC or console version; if a device runs Roblox, it runs the game.
Does Monsters in the Mansion have system requirements?
No dedicated ones to worry about. Because the game ships inside Roblox, any device that meets Roblox's own minimum requirements can run it — the same phone or laptop you already play Roblox on is enough. For comparison with standalone horror games, see the DbD comparison.
Are there codes in Monsters in the Mansion?
No developer-confirmed codes exist yet in Early Access. Community trackers dispute the FULLRELEASE and 75KLIKES codes — one lists them as active, another flags them as belonging to a different Roblox game. The codes page explains the dispute and where the first real code will drop, and the first drop point is announced on the official community channels.
How does the Monster find you?
Sound first, sight second. Sprinting, open-mic voice chat and thrown items pull the Monster toward you; flashlights and lit rooms reveal you at distance. Push-to-talk and crouch-walking are the baseline habits. The full detection model is in How the Monster Detects You.
What is the goal in Monsters in the Mansion?
Survivors do not escape — they cure. Gather hidden books scattered through the mansion, brew the antidote at the craft station, and apply it to the Monster at point-blank range. The Monster wins by stopping them. The full loop is in How to Cure the Monster.
Is Monsters in the Mansion like Dead by Daylight?
Same genre, inverted win condition: instead of repairing generators and escaping, Survivors must approach the thing hunting them and cure it — and the ratio is 1v7 instead of 1v4. The full comparison is in Monsters in the Mansion vs Dead by Daylight.
Who is Isabella in Monsters in the Mansion?
The newest Monster officially previewed for the game. Ubermonster Productions posted an "Isabella Preview" on its X account on September 4, 2026 — no abilities, stats or release timing have been published yet. What is and isn't confirmed is tracked in the Isabella profile.
What's on the Monsters in the Mansion roadmap?
No official public roadmap has been published. Early Access is patched frequently, and the studio's signals — like the Isabella preview — point toward named Monster types as the next big addition. The updates hub tracks every official signal as it lands.
Who makes Monsters in the Mansion?
Ubermonster Productions, a studio founded around Anthony Francisco, the artist best known for Marvel character design work. The team publishes on its official site and social channels, and has showcased monster designs in official trailers and behind-the-scenes art.
