Monsters in the Mansion Guide: All Guides & Tips

The complete Monsters in the Mansion guide hub: beginner basics, survival, the cure loop and advanced tips for the 8-player Roblox horror game.

Last updated:

Monsters in the Mansion is an asymmetrical survival horror game on Roblox by Ubermonster Productions, the studio of former Marvel concept artist Anthony Francisco. Eight players enter Doctor Mondo's haunted mansion — one of them is secretly possessed by the Monster and hunts the other seven Survivors. This guide hub is the starting point for every phase of the game: your first round, staying alive, winning by curing, and playing well at a higher level.

The one rule that changes everything

There is no exit. Unlike escape-style horror games, Survivors win by gathering hidden books, brewing the antidote, and curing the Monster — which means at some point you must walk toward the thing hunting you.

What this guide covers

The hub splits the game into four guides, each answering the question players ask most at that stage:

  1. Beginner Guide — your first round from spawn to cure: role assignment, the book hunt, and the mistakes that get new players killed.
  2. How to Survive — the three detection senses (noise, light, line-of-sight) and how to break every chase the Monster starts.
  3. How to Cure the Monster — the win condition in full: book routes, antidote brewing, and landing the point-blank cure.
  4. Tips & Advanced Play — delayed cures, decoy discipline, and the tactics that separate coordinated squads from public lobbies.

How a round actually plays out

A standard round follows the same loop every time. Eight players spawn inside the mansion. One is the Monster; the other seven are Survivors. The Survivors split into roles — book runners, decoys, a cure carrier, and support — then work the mansion wing by wing. Books spawn across the map and feed the antidote, which is brewed at a fixed craft station. Brewing is loud, so the squad guards the station while it runs. Finally, the cure carrier applies the antidote to the Monster at close range. If the cure lands, Survivors win; if the Monster catches the carrier mid-ritual, the round is lost.

The Monster plays the opposite game: patrol the book-rich rooms, answer every noise fast, and deny the craft. A Monster that chases one Survivor all round loses, because the other six complete the cure in peace.

Which guide should you read first?

If you have never played, read the Beginner Guide once, then keep How to Survive open in your second tab — detection mechanics are the number-one cause of early deaths. Once you can reliably survive a chase, learn the cure walkthrough, because surviving without curing is only half the game. Experienced players looking for the current meta should jump straight to the Survivor Tier List and Tips & Advanced Play.

If you prefer hunting instead of hiding, the Monster hub covers patrol strategy, detection mechanics from the hunter's side, and how to shut down the cure loop.

Early Access caveat

Monsters in the Mansion is in Roblox Early Access (September 2026) and is patched frequently. The fundamentals on this wiki — the cure loop, detection senses, role structure — are stable across builds, but specific numbers have not been published by the developer. Wherever a value is unconfirmed, we say so instead of inventing one.
