Monsters in the Mansion Perks Tier List (2026)

Monsters in the Mansion perk tier list: sound-masking, crafting, speed and detection effects ranked for Survivors and the Monster — Early Access status inside.

Last updated:

This is the Monsters in the Mansion perks tier list — with an honesty note first, because it changes how you should read every perk list on the internet: a formal perk system has not shipped in Monsters in the Mansion Early Access. The developer has not published named perks, so this page ranks the perk effect categories the game is built around, by their value to the cure loop. When real perks go live, this page re-ranks within the week.

Named perks are fan-made for now

Lists you may have seen with names like "Silent Step" or "Darkvision" are community theory, not confirmed game content. This page sticks to effect categories that trace directly to confirmed mechanics — sound, light, sight and the loud craft — so it stays correct even as the real system takes shape.

S-tier: Sound-masking

"Expect this to be the survivor meta." The Monster hunts by sound first — sprinting, open-mic voice and thrown items all pull it toward you — so anything that reduces your audio footprint attacks the strongest sense in the game. Quiet footsteps are the single most valuable survival effect a Survivor can take, and they pair with every role: runners cover more ground, decoys control their loudness, carriers approach unheard.

The mechanics behind the ranking are in How the Monster Detects You.

A-tier: Crafting-proximity

Faster or quieter antidote crafting shrinks the window the Monster has to punish the loud brew — the one moment in the round where the squad is pinned to a fixed point. Core pick for the Support role; in the endgame meta this is the perk that turns "risky craft" into "safe craft." The craft dynamics are covered in How to Cure the Monster.

A-tier: Speed / Peel

Movement effects that boost corner-peels and hide-breaks serve decoys and runners alike: the faster you can end a chase, the faster the lane goes back to quiet. It ranks below sound-masking only because the game rewards not being heard over escaping once heard — quieter play matters more than faster legs.

B-tier: Revive / Heal

"Keeps the loop alive after a down. Valuable but reactive." Revive effects are the Support's toolkit and shine in longer rounds where wipes happen. They rank B because a good revive recovers a mistake, while the tiers above prevent mistakes from forming.

C-tier: Damage-style effects

Avoid. There is no combat for Survivors and no damage race to win — victory comes from curing, not fighting. Any effect built around hurting the Monster misreads the game's win condition entirely.

Monster perk-effect tiers

S
Detection (sight in lit rooms, ranged hearing)
A
Chase-reset / patrol speed
C
Raw damage / chase stat sticks

Detection is the Monster's S-tier — extended sight in lit rooms plus ranged hearing turns the whole mansion into an information network, and information is how a Monster denies the cure. Patrol and chase-reset effects rank A: returning to the book lanes quickly is worth more than winning any single chase. Raw stat sticks rank C because the Monster's stated strength is detection and fear, not stat-checked chases — a Monster that chases one player all round loses with perfect stats. The hunter-side reasoning is in How to Play the Monster.

What to skip on both sides

Anything loud, lit, or slow near the Monster. Loud effects multiply rather than add, and the game punishes audio and light first. The practical translation into current-Early-Access habits — push-to-talk, flashlight discipline, loadout priorities per role — is in Perk Builds & Loadouts.

When real perks ship

The week a perk system lands, this page re-ranks with real names and values. Until then, check Patch Notes for system additions, and treat the category tiers above as the stable framework: they are derived from the cure loop, which no balance patch has changed yet.
